Year of Establishment

The DHRAC was established in September 2010 and recognized by Ministry of Interior No. 1777 on December 15, 2010 as a non profit, non-governmental organization (NGO). Since then it has been a civil society actor, which has no affiliation in politics.

Vision

Promote democratic values, push respect for human rights, and support society which is prosperity and harmony that:

DHRAC visions a prosperous, peaceful and harmonious Kingdom of Cambodia where freedom of belief, freedom of expression, free from fear and freedom from want exist in abundance. DHRAC seeks to promote democratic values, the rule of law and the improvement of the quality of life for all Cambodian people.

Mission

DHRAC’s mission is to encourage broad participation in public affairs at both the national and local level, develop a respect for human rights and the rule of law, enhance transparency and accountability in the public sphere, and raise awareness of issues of national concern through all forms of media.

Core Values

DHRAC’s core values are participation, social accountability, transparency, integrity, and respect for fundamental rights and freedoms (and solidarity for those whose rights are not respected).

Goal

The goal of DHRAC is to promote democracy and authentic respect for human rights in a society which is prosperous with harmonization.

Objectives

DHRAC shall achieve its vision by instituting projects that:

a. Work to curb corruption in Kingdom of Cambodia through the dissemination of information, education and prevention programs reaching out to all levels of the people of Kingdom of Cambodia;

b. Promote accountability, transparency and participation in the democratic processes of Kingdom of Cambodia;

c. Advocate for good governance through the institutionalization of democratic values and principles;

d. Participate in the development and implementation of free and fair electoral processes;

e. Strengthen respect for human rights and rule of law in Cambodia;

f. Provide neutral forums for open and candid debates and discussions on issues of concern to Cambodian society;

g. Work for peace, justice, healing and national reconciliation;

h. Promote the involvement of women and youth in all aspects of social and economic development
